Who is eligible to vote in the school election?

Anyone who is eligible to vote in general elections is also eligible to vote in school elections. To be eligible to vote in this election a North Brunswick resident:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must have been living in the state and the county for at least 30 days
  • Must have registered to vote at least 21 days before the election

How can you register to vote?

New voters can register to vote at the North Brunswick Township Municipal Building on Hermann Road or can complete a voter registration form and mail it to the address provided on the form. Voter registration forms are available at each North Brunswick Township public school and the North Brunswick Township Board of Education offices. Since they require an original signature, voter registration forms cannot be faxed; if you are mailing it, please ensure that you all sufficient time. If you are physically unable to get to your polling place or if you will not be in town on Election Day how can you get an absentee ballot?

If you are a registered voter and will be traveling out of town or have an illness which would prevent you from going to your polling place, you can request and absentee ballot. Click here to download Absentee Ballot from the NJ Division of Elections. Absentee ballots are available at each North Brunswick Township public school and the North Brunswick Township Board of Education offices. The completed form with your original signature must be received in the offices of the Middlesex County Clerk at least seven days prior to the election. It is important that you allow sufficient time for your request to be delivered by mail.

How do I know my voting district and polling location?

Your voting district for school elections will be the same district number assigned for general elections. Visit the North Brunswick Township Web site to find the polling location for your district.
